What should I do immediately after my phone gets wet?
Power it off immediately — do not try to charge it or turn it on. Remove the SIM card. Do not use a hair dryer. Bring it to us as soon as possible. Time is the biggest factor in water damage recovery.
My phone is water resistant — why is it damaged?
Water resistance ratings (IP67, IP68) degrade over time as seals wear out. They also do not cover all liquids — saltwater, pool water, and beverages are more corrosive than fresh water. Water resistance is not waterproofing.
My phone dried out and seems fine. Do I still need to bring it in?
Yes, if possible. Corrosion continues to develop even after the device appears dry. A phone that works today may fail in a few weeks due to ongoing corrosion. A cleaning now can prevent a bigger problem later.
What are the chances of saving my phone?
It depends on how quickly you act, what liquid it was exposed to, and how long it was submerged. Fresh water caught quickly has the best odds. Saltwater or long submersion is harder. We will give you an honest assessment after the diagnostic.
Do you charge if you cannot fix it?
No. If we perform a diagnostic and determine the device is not repairable, there is no charge for the repair attempt.
Is water damage covered under warranty?
Our 90-day warranty covers the specific work we performed. If the device is submerged again after the repair, that new damage is not covered.
